Project Stats
Understand the statistics shown in the Redaction Stats tool.
Last updated About 7 hours ago
Stats shows where one project stands: how long you have before the response is due, whether you will finish in time at your current pace, how much of the project contains redactions, and who did the work. Open it when you are planning your week, or before you tell a manager or requester where things are.
Every figure is for the open project only. For totals across all your projects, see Your Dashboard.
Opening Stats
Open your project.
Click Tools in the header.
Under Analytics & Management, click Stats.

You can also click View full stats on the stats card in the left sidebar. Stats opens in place of the document. Refresh reloads the figures, and Download PDF report saves them as a PDF (see Generate a Redaction Report).
Tip: Anyone with access to the project can open Stats, including viewers.
Response deadline

Response due. The SAR or FOI due date and how many days are left, counting today. If no date is set, the project owner sees Set due date. Everyone else can ask the owner to set one from the dashboard.
Left to triage or review. Items with no triage decision yet, plus approved items that have not been reviewed. An approved item still needs its review before it can be exported.
On pace to finish. How many triage and review decisions were made a day, on average, over the last 7 days, and the date you would finish at that rate. The timeline marks today, the due date and the projected finish. The finish turns red if it falls after the deadline.
The projected finish is an estimate from recent work, not a promise. If nothing was triaged or reviewed in the last 7 days there is no pace to go on, and Stats says so.
Where the project stands
Items. Every email and document in the project, split by type.
Redactions applied. The total, and the average per item. The average is a density, not coverage. Redactions cluster, so a low average can still mean every item that needed redacting was redacted.
Items with attachments. Items carrying attachments you need to handle by hand.
Redaction coverage
The coverage bar splits every item in the project into four groups. Hover over a row in the legend to see its exact percentage.

How redactions were applied
A ring chart of how many redactions were Applied in bulk (Search & Redact, Word Lists and People and identifiers), Marked individually, or Drawn as an area. The colours match the marks you see on documents.
Triage, review and activity
Triage and review. How many items are approved and in the redact queue, flagged, trashed, or not yet triaged. Below it, Awaiting a review decision counts the approved items still to review. Export opens when this reaches zero.
Activity. A chart of redactions over time. Choose Last 7 days, Last 30 days or All time (All time shows one bar per week). Hover over a bar, or use the arrow keys, to see the count.
Most redacted items and terms
Most redacted items. The items with the most redactions. Click one to open it.
Most redacted terms. The words and phrases redacted most often, how many items each appears in and how many times it was redacted. Show all opens the Redactions Manager.
Terms are shown in full, because everyone on the project can already open the documents they came from. If you are sharing your screen, click Hide terms to mask them. Your choice is remembered in this browser. The PDF report always masks terms.
Contributors and exports
Who did the work. Everyone who has made redactions, how many each made, their role on the project and when they were last active.
Exports. The ten most recent exports, how many items each contained and who took it. The full record is in Audit Logs.
Changes since you last looked
Click Changes since you last looked, next to the project name, to see what has moved since your last visit. Figures that changed show a small + or − badge, and the newest export is marked New.

Your last visit is remembered by this browser, not your account. On another computer or browser, or after clearing your browser data, there is nothing to compare against until you have opened Stats once.
If Stats shows nothing
Nothing to measure yet. No items have been extracted from your uploads yet. Wait for processing to finish, then click Refresh.
Couldn't load this project's statistics. RedactBox shows nothing rather than figures that might be wrong. Click Try again.
Example: a school SAR due in under two weeks
A parent's SAR is due on Friday week. You open Stats on Monday morning.
Left to triage or review reads 420, and On pace to finish projects the Wednesday after the deadline, in red.
You triage the obvious out-of-scope items in bulk and ask a colleague with editor access to take the review queue.
On Thursday, Changes since you last looked shows 380 fewer items left, and the projected finish has moved to next Tuesday, ahead of the deadline.
Before exporting, you check the hatched Approved, nothing redacted share of the coverage bar and open a few of those items to confirm nothing was missed.
